wifi: mac80211: allow transmitting EAPOL frames with tainted key
Lower layer device driver stop/wake TX by calling ieee80211_stop_queue()/
ieee80211_wake_queue() while hw scan. Sometimes hw scan and PTK rekey are
running in parallel, when M4 sent from wpa_supplicant arrive while the TX
queue is stopped, then the M4 will pending send, and then new key install
from wpa_supplicant. After TX queue wake up by lower layer device driver,
the M4 will be dropped by below call stack.
When key install started, the current key flag is set KEY_FLAG_TAINTED in
ieee80211_pairwise_rekey(), and then mac80211 wait key install complete by
lower layer device driver. Meanwhile ieee80211_tx_h_select_key() will return
TX_DROP for the M4 in step 12 below, and then ieee80211_free_txskb() called
by ieee80211_tx_dequeue(), so the M4 will not send and free, then the rekey
process failed becaue AP not receive M4. Please see details in steps below.
There are a interval between KEY_FLAG_TAINTED set for current key flag and
install key complete by lower layer device driver, the KEY_FLAG_TAINTED is
set in this interval, all packet including M4 will be dropped in this
interval, the interval is step 8~13 as below.

12. drop M4 by KEY_FLAG_TAINTED -waiting state-
13. -idle- install key complete with success/fail
success: clear flag KEY_FLAG_TAINTED
fail: start disconnect
Hence add check in step 11 above to allow the EAPOL send out in the
interval. If lower layer device driver use the old key/cipher to encrypt
the M4, then AP received/decrypt M4 correctly, after M4 send out, lower
layer device driver install the new key/cipher to hardware and return
success.
If lower layer device driver use new key/cipher to send the M4, then AP
will/should drop the M4, then it is same result with this issue, AP will/
should kick out station as well as this issue.

wifi: mac80211: work around Cisco AP 9115 VHT MPDU length
Cisco AP module 9115 with FW 17.3 has a bug and sends a too
large maximum MPDU length in the association response
(indicating 12k) that it cannot actually process.
Work around that by taking the minimum between what's in the
association response and the BSS elements (from beacon or
probe response).

wifi: mac80211: fix potential key use-after-free
When ieee80211_key_link() is called by ieee80211_gtk_rekey_add()
but returns 0 due to KRACK protection (identical key reinstall),
ieee80211_gtk_rekey_add() will still return a pointer into the
key, in a potential use-after-free. This normally doesn't happen
since it's only called by iwlwifi in case of WoWLAN rekey offload
which has its own KRACK protection, but still better to fix, do
that by returning an error code and converting that to success on
the cfg80211 boundary only, leaving the error for bad callers of
ieee80211_gtk_rekey_add().

wifi: brcmfmac: Replace 1-element arrays with flexible arrays
Since commit
2d47c6956ab3 ("ubsan: Tighten UBSAN_BOUNDS on GCC"),
UBSAN_BOUNDS no longer pretends 1-element arrays are unbounded. Walking
'element' and 'channel_list' will trigger warnings, so make them proper
flexible arrays.
False positive warnings were:

wifi: rtw88: rtw8723d: Fix MAC address offset in EEPROM
The MAC address is stored at offset 0x107 in the EEPROM, like correctly
stated in the comment. Add a two bytes reserved field right before the
MAC address to shift it from offset 0x105 to 0x107.
With this the MAC address returned from my RTL8723du wifi stick can be
correctly decoded as "Shenzhen Four Seas Global Link Network Technology
Co., Ltd."

rfkill: sync before userspace visibility/changes
If userspace quickly opens /dev/rfkill after a new
instance was created, it might see the old state of
the instance from before the sync work runs and may
even _change_ the state, only to have the sync work
change it again.
Fix this by doing the sync inline where needed, not
just for /dev/rfkill but also for sysfs.

wifi: mac80211: fix mesh id corruption on 32 bit systems
Since the changed field size was increased to u64, mesh_bss_info_changed
pulls invalid bits from the first 3 bytes of the mesh id, clears them, and
passes them on to ieee80211_link_info_change_notify, because
ifmsh->mbss_changed was not updated to match its size.
Fix this by turning into ifmsh->mbss_changed into an unsigned long array with
64 bit size.

wifi: cfg80211: fix cqm_config access race
Max Schulze reports crashes with brcmfmac. The reason seems
to be a race between userspace removing the CQM config and
the driver calling cfg80211_cqm_rssi_notify(), where if the
data is freed while cfg80211_cqm_rssi_notify() runs it will
crash since it assumes wdev->cqm_config is set. This can't
be fixed with a simple non-NULL check since there's nothing
we can do for locking easily, so use RCU instead to protect
the pointer, but that requires pulling the updates out into
an asynchronous worker so they can sleep and call back into
the driver.
Since we need to change the free anyway, also change it to
go back to the old settings if changing the settings fails.

A few lines above, space is kzalloc()'ed for:
sizeof(struct iwl_nvm_data) +
sizeof(struct ieee80211_channel) +
sizeof(struct ieee80211_rate)
'mvm->nvm_data' is a 'struct iwl_nvm_data', so it is fine.
At the end of this structure, there is the 'channels' flex array.
Each element is of type 'struct ieee80211_channel'.
So only 1 element is allocated in this array.
When doing:
mvm->nvm_data->bands[0].channels = mvm->nvm_data->channels;
We point at the first element of the 'channels' flex array.
So this is fine.
However, when doing:
mvm->nvm_data->bands[0].bitrates =
(void *)((u8 *)mvm->nvm_data->channels + 1);
because of the "(u8 *)" cast, we add only 1 to the address of the beginning
of the flex array.
It is likely that we want point at the 'struct ieee80211_rate' allocated
just after.
Remove the spurious casting so that the pointer arithmetic works as
expected.

Debugging indicates that nothing else is clearing the info->flags,
so some frames were flagged as ACKed when they should not be.
Explicitly clear the ack flag to ensure this does not happen.

wifi: cfg80211: validate AP phy operation before starting it
Many regulatories can have HE/EHT Operation as not permitted. In such
cases, AP should not be allowed to start if it is using a channel
having the no operation flag set. However, currently there is no such
check in place.
Fix this issue by validating such IEs sent during start AP against the
channel flags.

wifi: cfg80211/mac80211: hold link BSSes when assoc fails for MLO connection
When connect to MLO AP with more than one link, and the assoc response of
AP is not success, then cfg80211_unhold_bss() is not called for all the
links' cfg80211_bss except the primary link which means the link used by
the latest successful association request. Thus the hold value of the
cfg80211_bss is not reset to 0 after the assoc fail, and then the
__cfg80211_unlink_bss() will not be called for the cfg80211_bss by
__cfg80211_bss_expire().
Then the AP always looks exist even the AP is shutdown or reconfigured
to another type, then it will lead error while connecting it again.
The detail info are as below.
When connect with muti-links AP, cfg80211_hold_bss() is called by
cfg80211_mlme_assoc() for each cfg80211_bss of all the links. When
assoc response from AP is not success(such as status_code==1), the
ieee80211_link_data of non-primary link(sdata->link[link_id]) is NULL
because ieee80211_assoc_success()->ieee80211_vif_update_links() is
not called for the links.
Then struct cfg80211_rx_assoc_resp resp in cfg80211_rx_assoc_resp() and
struct cfg80211_connect_resp_params cr in __cfg80211_connect_result()
will only have the data of the primary link, and finally function
cfg80211_connect_result_release_bsses() only call cfg80211_unhold_bss()
for the primary link. Then cfg80211_bss of the other links will never free
because its hold is always > 0 now.
Hence assign value for the bss and status from assoc_data since it is
valid for this case. Also assign value of addr from assoc_data when the
link is NULL because the addrs of assoc_data and link both represent the
local link addr and they are same value for success connection.

wifi: mwifiex: Sanity check tlv_len and tlv_bitmap_len
Add sanity checks for both `tlv_len` and `tlv_bitmap_len` before
decoding data from `event_buf`.
This prevents any malicious or buggy firmware from overflowing
`event_buf` through large values for `tlv_len` and `tlv_bitmap_len`.

One-element and zero-length arrays are deprecated. So, replace
one-element array in struct mwifiex_ie_types_rxba_sync with
flexible-array member, and refactor the rest of the code, accordingly.
This results in no differences in binary output.

wifi: mwifiex: Fix tlv_buf_left calculation
In a TLV encoding scheme, the Length part represents the length after
the header containing the values for type and length. In this case,
`tlv_len` should be:
tlv_len == (sizeof(*tlv_rxba) - 1) - sizeof(tlv_rxba->header) + tlv_bitmap_len
Notice that the `- 1` accounts for the one-element array `bitmap`, which
1-byte size is already included in `sizeof(*tlv_rxba)`.
So, if the above is correct, there is a double-counting of some members
in `struct mwifiex_ie_types_rxba_sync`, when `tlv_buf_left` and `tmp`
are calculated:

"In terms of lines, most changes this time are on the pinned-init API
and infrastructure. While we have a Rust version upgrade, and thus a
bunch of changes from the vendored 'alloc' crate as usual, this time
those do not account for many lines.
Toolchain and infrastructure:
- Upgrade to Rust 1.71.1. This is the second such upgrade, which is a
smaller jump compared to the last time.
This version allows us to remove the '__rust_*' allocator functions
-- the compiler now generates them as expected, thus now our
'KernelAllocator' is used.
It also introduces the 'offset_of!' macro in the standard library
(as an unstable feature) which we will need soon. So far, we were
using a declarative macro as a prerequisite in some not-yet-landed
patch series, which did not support sub-fields (i.e. nested
structs):

- Upgrade to bindgen 0.65.1. This is the first time we upgrade its
version.
Given it is a fairly big jump, it comes with a fair number of

support LLVM 16 as well as proper support for '__noreturn' C
functions, which are now mapped to return the '!' type in Rust:

- 'scripts/rust_is_available.sh' improvements and fixes.
This series takes care of all the issues known so far and adds a
few new checks to cover for even more cases, plus adds some more
help texts. All this together will hopefully make problematic
setups easier to identify and to be solved by users building the
kernel.
In addition, it adds a test suite which covers all branches of the
shell script, as well as tests for the issues found so far.
- Support rust-analyzer for out-of-tree modules too.
- Give 'cfg's to rust-analyzer for the 'core' and 'alloc' crates.
- Drop 'scripts/is_rust_module.sh' since it is not needed anymore.
Macros crate:
- New 'paste!' proc macro.
This macro is a more flexible version of 'concat_idents!': it
allows the resulting identifier to be used to declare new items and
it allows to transform the identifiers before concatenating them,
e.g.

The macro is then used for several of the pinned-init API changes
in this pull.

'allocator' module:
- Use 'krealloc_aligned()' in 'KernelAllocator::alloc' preventing
misaligned allocations when the Rust 1.71.1 upgrade is applied
later in this pull.
The equivalent fix for the previous compiler version (where
'KernelAllocator' is not yet used) was merged into 6.5 already,
which added the 'krealloc_aligned()' function used here.
- Implement 'KernelAllocator::{realloc, alloc_zeroed}' for
performance, using 'krealloc_aligned()' too, which forwards the
call to the C API.
'types' module:
- Make 'Opaque' be '!Unpin', removing the need to add a
'PhantomPinned' field to Rust structs that contain C structs which
must not be moved.
- Make 'Opaque' use 'UnsafeCell' as the outer type, rather than
inner.
Documentation:
- Suggest obtaining the source code of the Rust's 'core' library
using the tarball instead of the repository.
MAINTAINERS:

SCHED_FAIR interactivity code: the EEVDF ("Earliest Eligible Virtual
Deadline First") scheduler
EEVDF too is a virtual-time scheduler, with two parameters (weight
and relative deadline), compared to CFS that had weight only. It
completely reworks the base scheduler: placement, preemption, picking
-- everything

Preemption (both tick and wakeup) is driven by testing against a
fresh pick. Because the tree is now effectively an interval tree, and
the selection is no longer the 'leftmost' task, over-scheduling is
less of a problem. A lot of the CFS heuristics are removed or
replaced by more natural latency-space parameters & constructs
In terms of expected performance regressions: we will and can fix
everything where a 'good' workload misbehaves with the new scheduler,
but EEVDF inevitably changes workload scheduling in a binary fashion,
hopefully for the better in the overwhelming majority of cases, but
in some cases it won't, especially in adversarial loads that got
lucky with the previous code, such as some variants of hackbench. We
are trying hard to err on the side of fixing all performance
regressions, but we expect some inevitable post-release iterations of
that process
- Improve load-balancing on hybrid x86 systems: enable cluster
scheduling (again)
- Improve & fix bandwidth-scheduling on nohz systems
- Improve bandwidth-throttling
- Use lock guards to simplify and de-goto-ify control flow

So far the sysfs SMT control only allows to toggle between SMT on
and off. That's sufficient for x86 which usually has at max two
threads except for the Xeon PHI platform which has four threads per
core
Though PowerPC has up to 16 threads per core and so far it's only
possible to control the number of enabled threads per core via a
command line option. There is some way to control this at runtime,
but that lacks enforcement and the usability is awkward
This update expands the sysfs interface and the core infrastructure
to accept numerical values so PowerPC can build SMT runtime control
for partial SMT enablement on top
The core support has also been provided to the PowerPC maintainers
who added the PowerPC related changes on top

general read and write IOs when the fs can make contiguous space
allocations, and Ritesh's work to track sub-folio dirty state to
eliminate the write amplification problems inherent in using large
folios.
As a bonus, io_uring can now process write completions in the caller's
context instead of bouncing through a workqueue, which should reduce
io latency dramatically. IOWs, XFS should see a nice performance bump
for both IO paths.
Summary:
- Make large writes to the page cache fill sparse parts of the cache
with large folios, then use large memcpy calls for the large folio.
- Track the per-block dirty state of each large folio so that a
buffered write to a single byte on a large folio does not result in
a (potentially) multi-megabyte writeback IO.
- Allow some directio completions to be performed in the initiating
task's context instead of punting through a workqueue. This will
reduce latency for some io_uring requests"

Due to an oversight in commit
1b3044e39a89 ("procfs: fix pthread
cross-thread naming if !PR_DUMPABLE") in switching from REG to NOD,
mode changes on /proc/thread-self/comm were accidently allowed.
Similar, mode changes for all files beneath /proc/<pid>/net/ are
blocked but mode changes on /proc/<pid>/net itself were accidently
allowed.
Both issues come down to not using the generic proc_setattr() helper
which blocks all mode changes. This is rectified with this pull
request.
This also removes a strange nolibc test that abused /proc/<pid>/net
for testing mode changes. Using procfs for this test never made a lot
of sense given procfs has special semantics for almost everything
anway.
Both changes are minor user-visible changes. It is however very
unlikely that mode changes on proc/<pid>/net and
/proc/thread-self/comm are something that userspace relies on"

"This adds the fchmodat2() system call. It is a revised version of the
fchmodat() system call, adding a missing flag argument. Support for
both AT_SYMLINK_NOFOLLOW and AT_EMPTY_PATH are included.
Adding this system call revision has been a longstanding request but
so far has always fallen through the cracks. While the kernel
implementation of fchmodat() does not have a flag argument the libc
provided POSIX-compliant fchmodat(3) version does. Both glibc and musl
have to implement a workaround in order to support AT_SYMLINK_NOFOLLOW
(see [1] and [2]).
The workaround is brittle because it relies not just on O_PATH and
O_NOFOLLOW semantics and procfs magic links but also on our rather
inconsistent symlink semantics.
This gives userspace a proper fchmodat2() system call that libcs can
use to properly implement fchmodat(3) and allows them to get rid of
their hacks. In this case it will immediately benefit them as the
current workaround is already defunct because of aformentioned
inconsistencies.
In addition to AT_SYMLINK_NOFOLLOW, give userspace the ability to use
AT_EMPTY_PATH with fchmodat2(). This is already possible with
fchownat() so there's no reason to not also support it for
fchmodat2().
The implementation is simple and comes with selftests. Implementation
of the system call and wiring up the system call are done as separate
patches even though they could arguably be one patch. But in case
there are merge conflicts from other system call additions it can be
beneficial to have separate patches"

first part changes the order of how we open block devices and allocate
superblocks, contains various cleanups, simplifications, and a new
mechanism to wait on superblock state changes.
This unblocks work to ultimately limit the number of writers to a
block device. Jan has already scheduled follow-up work that will be
ready for v6.7 and allows us to restrict the number of writers to a
given block device. That series builds on this work right here.
The second part contains filesystem freezing updates.
Overview:
The generic superblock changes are rougly organized as follows
(ignoring additional minor cleanups):
(1) Removal of the bd_super member from struct block_device.
This was a very odd back pointer to struct super_block with
unclear rules. For all relevant places we have other means to get
the same information so just get rid of this.
(2) Simplify rules for superblock cleanup.
Roughly, everything that is allocated during fs_context
initialization and that's stored in fs_context->s_fs_info needs
to be cleaned up by the fs_context->free() implementation before
the superblock allocation function has been called successfully.
After sget_fc() returned fs_context->s_fs_info has been
transferred to sb->s_fs_info at which point sb->kill_sb() if
fully responsible for cleanup. Adhering to these rules means that
cleanup of sb->s_fs_info in fill_super() is to be avoided as it's
brittle and inconsistent.
Cleanup shouldn't be duplicated between sb->put_super() as
sb->put_super() is only called if sb->s_root has been set aka
when the filesystem has been successfully born (SB_BORN). That
complexity should be avoided.
This also means that block devices are to be closed in
sb->kill_sb() instead of sb->put_super(). More details in the
lower section.
(3) Make it possible to lookup or create a superblock before opening
block devices
There's a subtle dependency on (2) as some filesystems did rely
on fill_super() to be called in order to correctly clean up
sb->s_fs_info. All these filesystems have been fixed.
(4) Switch most filesystem to follow the same logic as the generic
mount code now does as outlined in (3).
(5) Use the superblock as the holder of the block device. We can now
easily go back from block device to owning superblock.
(6) Export and extend the generic fs_holder_ops and use them as
holder ops everywhere and remove the filesystem specific holder
ops.
(7) Call from the block layer up into the filesystem layer when the
block device is removed, allowing to shut down the filesystem
without risk of deadlocks.
(8) Get rid of get_super().
We can now easily go back from the block device to owning
superblock and can call up from the block layer into the
filesystem layer when the device is removed. So no need to wade
through all registered superblock to find the owning superblock
anymore"

Features
========
- By far the biggest work is the quota support for tmpfs. New tmpfs
quota infrastructure is added to support it and a new QFMT_SHMEM
uapi option is exposed.
This offers user and group quotas to tmpfs (project quotas will be
added later). Similar to other filesystems tmpfs quota are not
supported within user namespaces yet.
- Add support for user xattrs. While tmpfs already supports security
xattrs (security.*) and POSIX ACLs for a long time it lacked
support for user xattrs (user.*). With this pull request tmpfs will
be able to support a limited number of user xattrs.
This is accompanied by a fix (see below) to limit persistent simple
xattr allocations.
- Add support for stable directory offsets. Currently tmpfs relies on
the libfs provided cursor-based mechanism for readdir. This causes
issues when a tmpfs filesystem is exported via NFS.
NFS clients do not open directories. Instead, each server-side
readdir operation opens the directory, reads it, and then closes
it. Since the cursor state for that directory is associated with
the opened file it is discarded after each readdir operation. Such
directory offsets are not just cached by NFS clients but also
various userspace libraries based on these clients.
As it stands there is no way to invalidate the caches when
directory offsets have changed and the whole application depends on
unchanging directory offsets.
At LSFMM we discussed how to solve this problem and decided to
support stable directory offsets. libfs now allows filesystems like
tmpfs to use an xarrary to map a directory offset to a dentry. This
mechanism is currently only used by tmpfs but can be supported by
others as well.
Fixes
=====
- Change persistent simple xattrs allocations in libfs from
GFP_KERNEL to GPF_KERNEL_ACCOUNT so they're subject to memory
cgroup limits. Since this is a change to libfs it affects both
tmpfs and kernfs.
- Correctly verify {g,u}id mount options.
A new filesystem context is created via fsopen() which records the
namespace that becomes the owning namespace of the superblock when
fsconfig(FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE) is called for filesystems that are
mountable in namespaces. However, fsconfig() calls can occur in a
namespace different from the namespace where fsopen() has been
called.
Currently, when fsconfig() is called to set {g,u}id mount options
the requested {g,u}id is mapped into a k{g,u}id according to the
namespace where fsconfig() was called from. The resulting k{g,u}id
is not guaranteed to be resolvable in the namespace of the
filesystem (the one that fsopen() was called in).
This means it's possible for an unprivileged user to create files
owned by any group in a tmpfs mount since it's possible to set the
setid bits on the tmpfs directory.
The contract for {g,u}id mount options and {g,u}id values in
general set from userspace has always been that they are translated
according to the caller's idmapping. In so far, tmpfs has been
doing the correct thing. But since tmpfs is mountable in
unprivileged contexts it is also necessary to verify that the
resulting {k,g}uid is representable in the namespace of the
superblock to avoid such bugs.
The new mount api's cross-namespace delegation abilities are
already widely used. Having talked to a bunch of userspace this is
the most faithful solution with minimal regression risks"

"This adds VFS support for multi-grain timestamps and converts tmpfs,
xfs, ext4, and btrfs to use them. This carries acks from all relevant
filesystems.
The VFS always uses coarse-grained timestamps when updating the ctime
and mtime after a change. This has the benefit of allowing filesystems
to optimize away a lot of metadata updates, down to around 1 per
jiffy, even when a file is under heavy writes.
Unfortunately, this has always been an issue when we're exporting via
NFSv3, which relies on timestamps to validate caches. A lot of changes
can happen in a jiffy, so timestamps aren't sufficient to help the
client decide to invalidate the cache.
Even with NFSv4, a lot of exported filesystems don't properly support
a change attribute and are subject to the same problems with timestamp
granularity. Other applications have similar issues with timestamps
(e.g., backup applications).
If we were to always use fine-grained timestamps, that would improve
the situation, but that becomes rather expensive, as the underlying
filesystem would have to log a lot more metadata updates.
This introduces fine-grained timestamps that are used when they are
actively queried.
This uses the 31st bit of the ctime tv_nsec field to indicate that
something has queried the inode for the mtime or ctime. When this flag
is set, on the next mtime or ctime update, the kernel will fetch a
fine-grained timestamp instead of the usual coarse-grained one.
As POSIX generally mandates that when the mtime changes, the ctime
must also change the kernel always stores normalized ctime values, so
only the first 30 bits of the tv_nsec field are ever used.
Filesytems can opt into this behavior by setting the FS_MGTIME flag in
the fstype. Filesystems that don't set this flag will continue to use
coarse-grained timestamps.
Various preparatory changes, fixes and cleanups are included:
- Fixup all relevant places where POSIX requires updating ctime
together with mtime. This is a wide-range of places and all
maintainers provided necessary Acks.
- Add new accessors for inode->i_ctime directly and change all
callers to rely on them. Plain accesses to inode->i_ctime are now
gone and it is accordingly rename to inode->__i_ctime and commented
as requiring accessors.
- Extend generic_fillattr() to pass in a request mask mirroring in a
sense the statx() uapi. This allows callers to pass in a request
mask to only get a subset of attributes filled in.
- Rework timestamp updates so it's possible to drop the @now
parameter the update_time() inode operation and associated helpers.
- Add inode_update_timestamps() and convert all filesystems to it
removing a bunch of open-coding"

"This introduces FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE_EXCL which allows userspace to
implement something like
$ mount -t ext4 --exclusive /dev/sda /B
which fails if a superblock for the requested filesystem does already
exist instead of silently reusing an existing superblock.
Without it, in the sequence
$ move-mount -f xfs -o source=/dev/sda4 /A
$ move-mount -f xfs -o noacl,source=/dev/sda4 /B
the initial mounter will create a superblock. The second mounter will
reuse the existing superblock, creating a bind-mount (see [1] for the
source of the move-mount binary).
The problem is that reusing an existing superblock means all mount
options other than read-only and read-write will be silently ignored
even if they are incompatible requests. For example, the second mount
has requested no POSIX ACL support but since the existing superblock
is reused POSIX ACL support will remain enabled.
Such silent superblock reuse can easily become a security issue.
After adding support for FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE_EXCL to mount(8) in
util-linux this can be fixed:
$ move-mount -f xfs --exclusive -o source=/dev/sda4 /A
$ move-mount -f xfs --exclusive -o noacl,source=/dev/sda4 /B
Device or resource busy | move-mount.c: 300: do_fsconfig: i xfs: reusing existing filesystem not allowed
This requires the new mount api. With the old mount api it would be
necessary to plumb this through every legacy filesystem's
file_system_type->mount() method. If they want this feature they are
most welcome to switch to the new mount api"

devlink: finish file split and get retire leftover.c
This patchset finishes a move Jakub started and Moshe continued in the
past. I was planning to do this for a long time, so here it is, finally.
This patchset does not change any behaviour. It just splits leftover.c
into per-object files and do necessary changes, like declaring functions
used from other code, on the way.
The last 3 patches are pushing the rest of the code into appropriate
existing files.
