keys: Fix description size

The maximum key description size is 4095.  Commit f771fde82051 ("keys:
Simplify key description management") inadvertantly reduced that to 255
and made sizes between 256 and 4095 work weirdly, and any size whereby
size & 255 == 0 would cause an assertion in __key_link_begin() at the
following line:

BUG_ON(index_key->desc_len == 0);

This can be fixed by simply increasing the size of desc_len in struct
keyring_index_key to a u16.

Note the argument length test in keyutils only checked empty
descriptions and descriptions with a size around the limit (ie.  4095)
and not for all the values in between, so it missed this.  This has been
addressed and

ravb: Fix use-after-free ravb_tstamp_skb

When a Tx timestamp is requested, a pointer to the skb is stored in the
ravb_tstamp_skb struct. This was done without an skb_get. There exists
the possibility that the skb could be freed by ravb_tx_free (when
ravb_tx_free is called from ravb_start_xmit) before the timestamp was
processed, leading to a use-after-free bug.

Use skb_get when filling a ravb_tstamp_skb struct, and add appropriate
frees/consumes when a ravb_tstamp_skb struct is freed.

netfilter: nf_tables: map basechain priority to hardware priority

This patch adds initial support for offloading basechains using the
priority range from 1 to 65535. This is restricting the netfilter
priority range to 16-bit integer since this is what most drivers assume
so far from tc. It should be possible to extend this range of supported
priorities later on once drivers are updated to support for 32-bit
integer priorities.

net: sched: use major priority number as hardware priority

tc transparently maps the software priority number to hardware. Update
it to pass the major priority which is what most drivers expect. Update
drivers too so they do not need to lshift the priority field of the
flow_cls_common_offload object. The stmmac driver is an exception, since
this code assumes the tc software priority is fine, therefore, lshift it
just to be conservative.

wimax/i2400m: fix a memory leak bug

In i2400m_barker_db_init(), 'options_orig' is allocated through kstrdup()
to hold the original command line options. Then, the options are parsed.
However, if an error occurs during the parsing process, 'options_orig' is
not deallocated, leading to a memory leak bug. To fix this issue, free
'options_orig' before returning the error.

net: cavium: fix driver name

The driver name gets exposed in sysfs under /sys/bus/pci/drivers
so it should look like other devices. Change it to be common
format (instead of "Cavium PTP").

This is a trivial fix that was observed by accident because
Debian kernels were building this driver into kernel (bug).

tipc: clean up skb list lock handling on send path

The policy for handling the skb list locks on the send and receive paths
is simple.

- On the send path we never need to grab the lock on the 'xmitq' list
  when the destination is an exernal node.

- On the receive path we always need to grab the lock on the 'inputq'
  list, irrespective of source node.

However, when transmitting node local messages those will eventually
end up on the receive path of a local socket, meaning that the argument
'xmitq' in tipc_node_xmit() will become the 'ínputq' argument in  the
function tipc_sk_rcv(). This has been handled by always initializing
the spinlock of the 'xmitq' list at message creation, just in case it
may end up on the receive path later, and despite knowing that the lock
in most cases never will be used.

This approach is inaccurate and confusing, and has also concealed the
fact that the stated 'no lock grabbing' policy for the send path is
violated in some cases.

We now clean up this by never initializing the lock at message creation,
instead doing this at the moment we find that the message actually will
enter the receive path. At the same time we fix the four locations
where we incorrectly access the spinlock on the send/error path.

This patch also reverts commit d12cffe9329f ("tipc: ensure head->lock
is initialised") which has now become redundant.

ibmvnic: Unmap DMA address of TX descriptor buffers after use

There's no need to wait until a completion is received to unmap
TX descriptor buffers that have been passed to the hypervisor.
Instead unmap it when the hypervisor call has completed. This patch
avoids the possibility that a buffer will not be unmapped because
a TX completion is lost or mishandled.

bnxt_en: Fix to include flow direction in L2 key

FW expects the driver to provide unique flow reference handles
for Tx or Rx flows. When a Tx flow and an Rx flow end up sharing
a reference handle, flow offload does not seem to work.
This could happen in the case of 2 flows having their L2 fields
wildcarded but in different direction.
Fix to incorporate the flow direction as part of the L2 key

v2: Move the dir field to the end of the bnxt_tc_l2_key struct to
fix the warning reported by kbuild test robot <lkp@intel.com>.
There is existing code that initializes the structure using
nested initializer and will warn with the new u8 field added to
the beginning.  The structure also packs nicer when this new u8 is
added to the end of the structure [MChan].

bnxt_en: Use correct src_fid to determine direction of the flow

Direction of the flow is determined using src_fid. For an RX flow,
src_fid is PF's fid and for TX flow, src_fid is VF's fid. Direction
of the flow must be specified, when getting statistics for that flow.
Currently, for DECAP flow, direction is determined incorrectly, i.e.,
direction is initialized as TX for DECAP flow, instead of RX. Because
of which, stats are not reported for this DECAP flow, though it is
offloaded and there is traffic for that flow, resulting in flow age out.

This patch fixes the problem by determining the DECAP flow's direction
using correct fid.  Set the flow direction in all cases for consistency
even if 64-bit flow handle is not used.

bnxt_en: Improve RX doorbell sequence.

When both RX buffers and RX aggregation buffers have to be
replenished at the end of NAPI, post the RX aggregation buffers first
before RX buffers.  Otherwise, we may run into a situation where
there are only RX buffers without RX aggregation buffers for a split
second.  This will cause the hardware to abort the RX packet and
report buffer errors, which will cause unnecessary cleanup by the
driver.

Ringing the Aggregation ring doorbell first before the RX ring doorbell
will prevent some of these buffer errors.  Use the same sequence during
ring initialization as well.

bnxt_en: Fix VNIC clearing logic for 57500 chips.

During device shutdown, the VNIC clearing sequence needs to be modified
to free the VNIC first before freeing the RSS contexts.  The current
code is doing the reverse and we can get mis-directed RX completions
to CP ring ID 0 when the RSS contexts are freed and zeroed.  The clearing
of RSS contexts is not required with the new sequence.

Refactor the VNIC clearing logic into a new function bnxt_clear_vnic()
and do the chip specific VNIC clearing sequence.

net: kalmia: fix memory leaks

In kalmia_init_and_get_ethernet_addr(), 'usb_buf' is allocated through
kmalloc(). In the following execution, if the 'status' returned by
kalmia_send_init_packet() is not 0, 'usb_buf' is not deallocated, leading
to memory leaks. To fix this issue, add the 'out' label to free 'usb_buf'.

cx82310_eth: fix a memory leak bug

In cx82310_bind(), 'dev->partial_data' is allocated through kmalloc().
Then, the execution waits for the firmware to become ready. If the firmware
is not ready in time, the execution is terminated. However, the allocated
'dev->partial_data' is not deallocated on this path, leading to a memory
leak bug. To fix this issue, free 'dev->partial_data' before returning the
error.

net: hns3: prevent unnecessary MAC TNL interrupt

MAC TNL interrupt is used to collect statistic info about
link status changing suddenly when netdev is running.

But when stopping netdev, the enabled MAC TNL interrupt is
unnecessary, and may add some noises to the statistic info.
So this patch disables it before stopping MAC.

The pointer type parameter should be declare as const for preventing
from its pointed value being unexpected modified.

The uninitialized variable can not be return directly. The default
return value is 0 if no abnormal result.

This patch fixes the preceding two errors, deletes redundant

Commit 04f05230c5c13 ("bnx2x: Remove configured vlans as
part of unload sequence."), introduced a regression in driver
that as a part of VF's reload flow, VLANs created on the VF
doesn't get re-configured in hardware as vlan metadata/info
was not getting cleared for the VFs which causes vlan PING to stop.

This patch clears the vlan metadata/info so that VLANs gets
re-configured back in the hardware in VF's reload flow and
PING/traffic continues for VLANs created over the VFs.

Users have several ways to debug the kernel and understand why a packet
was dropped. For example, using drop monitor and perf. Both utilities
trace kfree_skb(), which is the function called when a packet is freed
as part of a failure. The information provided by these tools is
invaluable when trying to understand the cause of a packet loss.

In recent years, large portions of the kernel data path were offloaded
to capable devices. Today, it is possible to perform L2 and L3
forwarding in hardware, as well as tunneling (IP-in-IP and VXLAN).
Different TC classifiers and actions are also offloaded to capable
devices, at both ingress and egress.

However, when the data path is offloaded it is not possible to achieve
the same level of introspection since packets are dropped by the
underlying device and never reach the kernel.

This patchset aims to solve this by allowing users to monitor packets
that the underlying device decided to drop along with relevant metadata
such as the drop reason and ingress port.

The above is achieved by exposing a fundamental capability of devices
capable of data path offloading - packet trapping. In much the same way
as drop monitor registers its probe function with the kfree_skb()
tracepoint, the device is instructed to pass to the CPU (trap) packets
that it decided to drop in various places in the pipeline.

The configuration of the device to pass such packets to the CPU is
performed using devlink, as it is not specific to a port, but rather to
a device. In the future, we plan to control the policing of such packets
using devlink, in order not to overwhelm the CPU.

While devlink is used as the control path, the dropped packets are
passed along with metadata to drop monitor, which reports them to
userspace as netlink events. This allows users to use the same interface
for the monitoring of both software and hardware drops.

netdevsim: Add devlink-trap support

Have netdevsim register its trap groups and traps with devlink during
initialization and periodically report trapped packets to devlink core.

Since netdevsim is not a real device, the trapped packets are emulated
using a workqueue that periodically reports a UDP packet with a random
5-tuple from each active packet trap and from each running netdev.

devlink: Add packet trap infrastructure

Add the basic packet trap infrastructure that allows device drivers to
register their supported packet traps and trap groups with devlink.

Each driver is expected to provide basic information about each
supported trap, such as name and ID, but also the supported metadata
types that will accompany each packet trapped via the trap. The
currently supported metadata type is just the input port, but more will
be added in the future. For example, output port and traffic class.

Trap groups allow users to set the action of all member traps. In
addition, users can retrieve per-group statistics in case per-trap
statistics are too narrow. In the future, the trap group object can be
extended with more attributes, such as policer settings which will limit
the amount of traffic generated by member traps towards the CPU.

Beside registering their packet traps with devlink, drivers are also
expected to report trapped packets to devlink along with relevant
metadata. devlink will maintain packets and bytes statistics for each
packet trap and will potentially report the trapped packet with its
metadata to user space via drop monitor netlink channel.

The interface towards the drivers is simple and allows devlink to set
the action of the trap. Currently, only two actions are supported:
'trap' and 'drop'. When set to 'trap', the device is expected to provide
the sole copy of the packet to the driver which will pass it to devlink.
When set to 'drop', the device is expected to drop the packet and not
send a copy to the driver. In the future, more actions can be added,
such as 'mirror'.

drop_monitor: Allow user to start monitoring hardware drops

Drop monitor has start and stop commands, but so far these were only
used to start and stop monitoring of software drops.

Now that drop monitor can also monitor hardware drops, we should allow
the user to control these as well.

Do that by adding SW and HW flags to these commands. If no flag is
specified, then only start / stop monitoring software drops. This is
done in order to maintain backward-compatibility with existing user
space applications.

drop_monitor: Add support for summary alert mode for hardware drops

In summary alert mode a notification is sent with a list of recent drop
reasons and a count of how many packets were dropped due to this reason.

To avoid expensive operations in the context in which packets are
dropped, each CPU holds an array whose number of entries is the maximum
number of drop reasons that can be encoded in the netlink notification.
Each entry stores the drop reason and a count. When a packet is dropped
the array is traversed and a new entry is created or the count of an
existing entry is incremented.

Later, in process context, the array is replaced with a newly allocated
copy and the old array is encoded in a netlink notification. To avoid
breaking user space, the notification includes the ancillary header,
which is 'struct net_dm_alert_msg' with number of entries set to '0'.

drop_monitor: Add support for packet alert mode for hardware drops

In a similar fashion to software drops, extend drop monitor to send
netlink events when packets are dropped by the underlying hardware.

The main difference is that instead of encoding the program counter (PC)
from which kfree_skb() was called in the netlink message, we encode the
hardware trap name. The two are mostly equivalent since they should both
help the user understand why the packet was dropped.

drop_monitor: Consider all monitoring states before performing configuration

The drop monitor configuration (e.g., alert mode) is global, but user
will be able to enable monitoring of only software or hardware drops.

Therefore, ensure that monitoring of both software and hardware drops are
disabled before allowing drop monitor configuration to take place.

drop_monitor: Move per-CPU data init/fini to separate functions

Currently drop monitor only reports software drops to user space, but
subsequent patches are going to add support for hardware drops.

Like software drops, the per-CPU data of hardware drops needs to be
initialized and de-initialized upon module initialization and exit. To
avoid code duplication, break this code into separate functions, so that
these could be re-used for hardware drops.

No functional changes intended.

net: bridge: mdb: dump host-joined entries as well

Currently we dump only the port mdb entries but we can have host-joined
entries on the bridge itself and they should be treated as normal temp
mdbs, they're already notified:
$ bridge monitor all
[MDB]dev br0 port br0 grp ff02::8 temp

The group will not be shown in the bridge mdb output, but it takes 1 slot
and it's timing out. If it's only host-joined then the mdb show output
can even be empty.

After this patch we show the host-joined groups:
$ bridge mdb show
dev br0 port br0 grp ff02::8 temp

tipc: fix false detection of retransmit failures

This commit eliminates the use of the link 'stale_limit' & 'prev_from'
(besides the already removed - 'stale_cnt') variables in the detection
of repeated retransmit failures as there is no proper way to initialize
them to avoid a false detection, i.e. it is not really a retransmission
failure but due to a garbage values in the variables.

Instead, a jiffies variable will be added to individual skbs (like the
way we restrict the skb retransmissions) in order to mark the first skb
retransmit time. Later on, at the next retransmissions, the timestamp
will be checked to see if the skb in the link transmq is "too stale",
that is, the link tolerance time has passed, so that a link reset will
be ordered. Note, just checking on the first skb in the queue is fine
enough since it must be the oldest one.
A counter is also added to keep track the actual skb retransmissions'
number for later checking when the failure happens.

The downside of this approach is that the skb->cb[] buffer is about to
be exhausted, however it is always able to allocate another memory area
and keep a reference to it when needed.

ipvlan: set hw_enc_features like macvlan

Allow encapsulated packets sent to tunnels layered over ipvlan to use
offloads rather than forcing SW fallbacks.

Since commit f21e5077010acda73a60 ("macvlan: add offload features for
encapsulation"), macvlan has set dev->hw_enc_features to include
everything in dev->features; do likewise in ipvlan.

lan78xx: Fix memory leaks

In lan78xx_probe(), a new urb is allocated through usb_alloc_urb() and
saved to 'dev->urb_intr'. However, in the following execution, if an error
occurs, 'dev->urb_intr' is not deallocated, leading to memory leaks. To fix
this issue, invoke usb_free_urb() to free the allocated urb before
returning from the function.

net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: check for mode change in port_setup_mac

The mv88e6xxx_port_setup_mac checks if the requested MAC settings are
different from the current ones, and if not, does nothing (since chaning
them requires putting the link down).

In this check it only looks if the triplet [link, speed, duplex] is
being changed.

This patch adds support to also check if the mode parameter (of type
phy_interface_t) is requested to be changed. The current mode is
computed by the ->port_link_state() method, and if it is different from
PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_NA, we check for equality with the requested mode.

In the implementations of the mv88e6250_port_link_state() method we set
the current mode to PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_NA - so the code does not check
for mode change on 6250.

In the mv88e6352_port_link_state() method, we use the cached cmode of
the port to determine the mode as phy_interface_t (and if it is not
enough, eg. for RGMII, we also look at the port control register for
RX/TX timings).
